Pedro de Arbués
Saint Pedro de Arbués , born in 1441 with Depilated and assassinated the September 17th 1485 with Saragossa, is a Spanish Inquisiteur .
Pedro de Arbués was named, with Gaspar Juglar, the May 4th 1484, large inquisitor of the area of Saragossa, by the general inquisitor Torquemada. One of the wildest Spanish inquisiteurs, it was, the September 14th 1485, whereas it was knelt in prayers in front of the large furnace bridge of the cathedral of Saragossa, assassinated by eight murderers, who escaped shortly after. He died, three days later, of the continuations of his wounds.
Following its murder, which was allotted to marranes, Jews converted savagely persecuted by him, Torquemada, whose capacity was extended to the totality of Spain, organized with Saragossa gigantic Auto-da-fe to which even the large ones of Spain and during were invited which were alive flarings of the hundreds of heretics, or were supposed such.
The assassins were stopped and carried out during several autos-da-fe, which took place between the June 30th and the December 15th 1486. According to Zurita, there were nine executions in person, two suicides, thirteen burned in effigy and four punished for complicity.
Torquemada required the Béatification in the capacity as Martyr of Pedro de Arbués, who was canonized by the pope Pie IX in 1867.
