Pataca

The Pataca (MOP according to the standard ISO 4217 (list of the Codes of the currencies)) is the national currency of Macao. It is related to the Dollar of HongKong.
La pataca (in Chinese: 澳門圓) is divided into 100 avos .
Il exists parts of 10,20 and 50 avos as well as 1 pataca, 2,5 and 10 patacas.
Il exists tickets of 10,20,50,100,500 and 1000 patacas.

The monetary policy concerning the value of the pataca is led by the AMCM (Monetary authority of Macao, in Portuguese Autoridade Monetária de Macau , in Chinese 澳門金融管理局).

In the past, the coins were marked " Republic portugaise" ( Republica Portuguesa in Portuguese). This mention was replaced by the only name of " Macau" during the retrocession of the territory in China.

Several private banking, as in HongKong, issues banknotes in Macao. It is about the Banco Nacional Ultramarino and of the Banco da China (Bank of China).
