Pardies is a common French, located in the department of the Yrénées-Atlantiques and the area Aquitaine.

Its name inhabitant of Béarn is Pardias .
Its inhabitants is called Pardisiens and Pardisiennes.

The grounds of the commune are sprinkled by the Gave of Pau and its affluent, the Bayse, and by the tributaries of the latter, the brooks the Baysère and Lèze.

Toponymy

The toponym Pardies appears in the forms Pardines and Pardinœ (respectively Xe century and 1176, cartulaire of Sauvelade), Pardias (1290, censier of Béarn) and lo plaa of Pardies (1343, homages of Béarn).

It comes from the Pyrenean, frequent word in Aragon, pardinas which means pasture with dry stone walls.

History

Paul Raymond note that Pardies is a former archpriest of the diocese of Lescar. In 1385, the commune counted 51 fires.

The town of Pardies belongs to the Communauté of communes of Lacq which gathers 16 communes of the agglomeration mourenxoise.
