Kylix is a environment of development integrated under Linux supporting the language Pascal Objet and C++. It is about an attempt at bearing by Borland of sound RAD headlight Delphi and of its “little brother” C++ Builder.

The first version left beginning 2001, a little young person; second followed very quickly; the third and last version (Kylix 3) left in July 2002.

Kylix is a product very close to Delphi: even principle, even interface. It functions under Linux and makes it possible to create programs for this system. Same the Source code can in theory being compiled under Linux and Windows (respectively with Kylix and Delphi) thanks to the use of the library object CLX which is pressed on the graphic library Qt.

There exists a version in free downloading which makes it possible to write programs under license LPG.

Kylix is now given up by Borland, because of the weak economic consequences of the product.
