Palladius

Palladius (4th century of our era) is the author of an old treaty on the Agriculture. He teaches us that he had grounds in the countryside Napolitain E and in Sardinia and that he directed the exploitation from there. Palladius gathered its observations and its experiments of 14 books. The first contains general precepts: situation of the farm, qualities of the ground, construction of the buildings (with very invaluable details of architecture and interior installations, windows, rooms, cisterns, refrigeration of the cellars, etc), storerooms, attics, oil mill, cattle sheds and stables, hen houses (chapters on the pigeons, hens, pheasants, peacocks), gardens, hives, etc the other books detail work of agriculture, gardening, held of house, vine growing, harvest of the fruits, art to make various wines, collects honey, clothes industry of oil, olive and others, jams, hydromel, verjuice…
