Pénestin
Pénestin is a common French, located in the department of the Morbihan and the area Brittany.
Geography
Agricultural soil, forming a point enters the estuary of Unpleasant to north and the bay and the marshes of Bridge-Mahé/PEN-Be in the South, the common one belongs to the Peninsula of Guérande.A broad opening on the Atlantic Ocean, offers a littoral of beaches which allowed a family tourist development with the construction of second home of inhabitants of Rennes and of Nantes. An urban balance made it possible to preserve at the littoral a certain seal.
History
Commune created in 1790. Old Trève of the parish of Assérac, included in Chatellenie d' Assérac, and in the past attached to the Seneschalsy of Guérande (or Campsillon) until the French revolution (1790-1794). Although then attached to évéché of Nantes, Pénestin, Camoël and Férel will be included in the department of Morbihan.

Personalities related to the commune
Lucien " Small-Breton" , first racing cyclist to have gained two turns of France of at a stretch, in 1907 and 1908, is buried with the cemetery of Pénestin and gave his name to the general-purpose complex of the commune.Jean-Claude Baudrais, mayor since 1995, belonged to the 500 municipal officials who sponsored Nicolas Sarkozy at the time of presidential of 2007. In 2002, it had allowed Alain Madelin, former mayor of Redon, to present itself to the election with the presidency of the Republic.
