History

Ouzouer-The-market would hold its name of " Oratorical on marsh " , from where denomination of the inhabitants. The locality would have developed around a residence, with the limit of the valleys of the Sourness and Mauves, on a layer of clay of at least 9m. The former inhabitants drained the grounds by a system of ponds and ditches (11 ponds at last century).

By the presence of many cut flints (of which there is a small collection with the town hall), one can say that the area to summer very populated. Period of the Neolithic era, Ouzouer does not preserve today than only one dolmen: the has stone “Daillot” , close to Chandry. Small the château' , flanked in North by a watch tower and South-east by a tower appearing older, constitutes nothing any more but part of the primitive construction which underwent demolitions at the 11th centuries.

Its blazon is of Gueules to five rafter S of gold.
