Ouled Djellal

Ouled Djellal is a Ville located in the solid mass of the Aurès in Algérie, to approximately 100 km of the town of Biskra. Gathering nearly 65.000 inhabitants]]. the originating ones in this city are Djellali divided into three tribes which are Ouled-Elhamel, Reziguet and Miaatigue. The area is also producing of Ovin S. the only company of importance is the gypsum factory located outside the city and which makes live a great number of families of the city, a similar factory is under installation.

The city has sheltered each year for ten years the medical days during one week of April. These days are conceived to confront the ideas of the best Algerian doctors. This initiative begin with the representative from the Red Crescent Algerian Mr. Fraihat Mohamed known as (Boualem) at the Civil Hospital from Ouled-Djellal with a medical team at her head the orthopedist Doctor " KHELIFA, then by Professor Abderrahmane Benbouzid accompanied by Doctor Fraihat Ahmed-Said which ensured the total success of these medical days. Ouled Djellal is also a town of gastronomes: the most known dishes are the chekhchoukha, the berboucha, the mehjouba, the mahkouk, the bathouth, but also the boutchiche, the berboucha cabouya, the ich, etc

An important community of Djellalis (inhabitants of this city) lives in France, it is gathered in 3 quite distinct regions (Lyon, Paris and North) which are linked has Ouled-Djellal (via the airport of Biskra) by two weekly international air links at the beginning of Paris and Lyon.
