The perspiration (or sudation) is the evacuation of the Sueur by the pores of the Peau. It is a physiological function present to differing degree at all the Mammifère S. At the Homme, the principal function of perspiration is the Régulation of the Température of the body, sweat while evaporating lowers the body temperature.
The existence of a perspiration by the Skin and the Lung S.A. shown in experiments for the first time in 1614, by Santorio Santorio, Italian doctor.
Why does one perspire when one is afraid?
The Peur involves simultaneous reactions in the body. The Poumon S dilate, breathing accelerates, the Cœur beats more quickly. These bodies which are activated at the same time increase the production of heat by the Organisme. Vis-a-vis this Addition suddenly of activity, the body risks overheating; perspiration thus increases to cool it. Indeed, the Sweat while evaporating, cools the skin and thus maintains the body with a constant Température of approximately 37°c.
