Ostein palate
The Palais Ostein of Mainz is built of 1747 to 1752 by Johann Valentine Thomann (1695-1777) for the senior official Franz Wolfgang Damian von Ostein, brother of the Prince voter Johann Friedrich Karl von Ostein (1689-1763).
During the French revolution, Mainz becomes the capital of the department of Mount-Thunder with for Préfet André Jeanbon Saint Andre.
The clergy and the aristocracy were expropriés and are flee. The palate then became public property.
Old the Hotel is the seat of the Circle of the Officers today.
