Ostéosarcome

A ostéosarcome ( sarcome osteogenetic ) is most current of the malignant Tumeur S Os seuses primary elections, if one excludes the Myélome S and the Lymphome S. It has a predilection for the area of the Métaphyse S of the tubular long bones. 50  % of the cases occur around the Genou. It is about a malignant tumor of the conjunctive fabric (soft) whose neoplasic cells present a osteoblastic differentiation and form tumoral bone. With progress of oncologic medicine the ostéosarcome has much better a Pronostic than a few years ago but this shape of cancer remains relatively rare.

Prevalence

5  % of the tumors of the children. More frequent at the subjects young (average age 16 years) the adult can also suffer from this shape of cancer. 150 to 200 new cases per annum in France

Pathology

In general localized osseous tumor on long bones (femur, tibia, fibula, humérus…)but also on flat bones.

Symptoms

The symptoms are not obvious to encircle. In general, they present in the form of twinge in the part or the member reaches when the individual is at rest. Possible tendinitis (tendinitis with the elbow which does not cure!: case for the ostéosarcome of the humérus). In the extreme cases, it is detected during a fracture of the bone (in this case the tumor consumed to it quasi totality of the bone).

Signs

Gonalgies persistent (in spite of the anti pains) which becomes insomniantes

Treatment

Chemotherapy (API protocol AI) before surgery and poses prosthesis when one can.

Forecast

According to the speed of detection and rank and state metastasic, the forecast of cure is higher than 70%
