Phonetics

The ossète uses the letters of the alphabet Cyrillic ё, й, ц, у, к, е, н, г, ш, щ, з, х, ъ, ф, ы, в, а, п, ро, л, д, ж, э, plus a letter ӕ which is particular for him - (æ of the Latin alphabet is used in data processing).

The letters ё, ж, ш, щ, ъ, ь, э, ю, я, are used only in the words borrowed from Russian and the proper names, for example: журнал, Шаляпин, объект, пьеса, экватор, Юрик, якорь.

The letters а, б, в, г, д, е, и, й, л, м, н, о, р, ф by their pronunciation are close to Russian.

The base of the present corresponds to the root of the verb.
