Osques

Osques, (Latin: Osci or Opsci ) people of the old Italy, occupied the southernmost part of the Péninsule. Established in Campania towards the end of fifth century BC, they adopt the Etruscan alphabet and are subjugated by the Samnites. They with them, will be incorporated in the Roman République after the Bataille of Sentinum. Their name of Opsci comes from the name of the Déesse of the Fertilité Ops.

Their language, the Osque is a member of Italic languages including the Latin , the Ombrien, the Falisque.
