Oppression
The oppression is the systematic ill treatment of a social group with the support of the structures of the oppressive Société. Racism, oppression of the women, Homophobie, Anti-semitism, Islamophobie is examples of oppression.
Oppression is often a discussed subject because there is dissension on the causes of oppressions, and also sometimes a competition between various oppressed groups which can each one regard their oppression as more important than that of other groups.
Three current approaches with oppression are the Marxist approach “” the humanistic approach “” and “approaches it identity”.
Approaches Marxist
According to the Marxists, the effect of oppressions is to divide the Travailleur S and to make more difficult the rebellion against the established order. A logic of “Scapegoat” would convince part of the workers whom them interest does not lie in the unit of the whole of the workers. Thus, the workers men would find a relief in their condition of dominated by dominating in their turn the women. According to this vision all the workers have interest with the disappearance of all oppressions, which would become possible with the inversion of the domination of the profit on the whole of the social life.
In the Marxist thought, oppression can also be synonymous with Aliénation.
Identity approach
The identity approach sees, on the contrary, of the contradictory interests between the oppressed group and the remainder of the company. According to this vision, the men, for example, would benefit from the oppression of the women, the heterosexual (it) S would benefit from the oppression of the homosexual (it) S, etc progress would pass by the unit of each oppressed group and its combat separated to impose a different power struggle.
Humanistic approach
The humanistic approach sees the roots of oppression in the prejudices of the individuals, and the solution according to this approach would pass by the education to counter the prejudices. This approach does not concentrate on the possible divergent interests between various social groups.
