Opel
Opel is a German automobile mark whose logo is the " blitz" (French flash).
This mark is present in Europe (except in Great Britain where its models are sold under the national mark Vauxhall), in Asia, in Oceania (Tahiti and New Caledonia) and in Africa. Opel is not present in North America, in South America.
Group
Opel belongs to the group General Motors since the Années 1920. It is a popular mark, and it divides some of its models, with Chevrolet, Vauxhall Motors, Holden, Saturn, Isuzu or Suzuki. It is General Motors Europe.
History
Created in 1896 by Adam Opel, and pertaining since the years 1920 to the group General Motors.
Opel also produced some Motocyclette S in the years 1920 to 1930.
Just like Ford - Germany, Opel, subsidiary of American General Motors, fully took part in the German effort of war during the Second world war, in particular by massively producing on behalf of the Wehrmacht the truck Opel " Blitz" and its derivatives.
