Synopsis
Summer 1999, Yaguine Koita and Fodé Tounkara, two Guinean teenagers on vacation, dream of a better future, studies and of hope for all. Like butterflies attracted by the promising but illusory lights of Europe, they would not only like to change their future, but that of all young African. They conceive a project then which, hope will draw the attention of the Western leaders to misfortunes of the Africa. Gahité Fofana recalls the last days of Yaguine Koïta and found Fodé Tounkara the August 2nd 1999 with Brussels in the landing gear of a plane of SABENA. To explain their gesture, the two teenagers carried on them a letter to “Excellence, the persons in charge of Europe”, which represents one moving call to the help:It is of your solidarity and your kindness that we shout you the Help! in Africa. Thus if you see that we sacrifice ourselves and expose our lives, it is because one suffers too much in Africa and that one needs you to fight against poverty and to put an end to the war in Africa. Nevertheless, we want to study, and we ask you to help us to study to be like you in Africa.
