The Area of Ombrie (in Italian Regione Umbria ), usually known as the Ombrie , is a Région of populated central Italy of 0,8 million inhabitants. It has like capital Perugia ( Perugia ).

History
The area was one of the centers of Etruscan civilization which founded there the town of Perugia. To the the Middle Ages, it gave rise to Saint François d' Assise. To XIVe century, Ombrie passes under papal domination. It joined new the kingdom of Italy in 1860.
Geography
Ombrie is bordered in North and the East by the Marches, in the West and the North-West by the Toscane and in the South by the Latium (Lazio). It is located on the chain of the the Apennines and is crossed by the the Tiber.
