Ombra beyond will be

the Ombra beyond will be ( Ombre of the evening ) is a votive Etruscan statuette discovered with Volterra and thus named by Gabriele D' Annunzio. It is about a thread-like statuette, all in length, a bronze of 50 cm (which are not without pointing out the distortion longiligne statues of the sculptor Alberto Giacometti). It goes back to 2.300 years, that is to say third century BC, resulting from the ancient foundries of the area of Volterra rich in metalliferous ores. It is preserved at the museum Guicciardini (museum presenting of Etruscan antiquities of Volterra, of which a collection of funeral urns).

Discovered by a farmer at the 19th century, the legend tells that it would have used it during years as poker before one realizes that it was about a masterpiece of the Etruscan art.

One finds sculptures institutional inspired by this model through all Tuscany, thus monumental is with Pisa.
