Omar to el-Béchir

Omar Hassan Ahmad to el-Béchir (Arab: rear RTL عمرحسنأحمدالبشير), born on January 1st 1944 in Hosh Bonnaga, is a military chief and politicking Sudan board, Head of the State of 1989 with 1993 and President since 1993. El-Béchir studied in a military academy of the Cairo and served in the Egyptian army during the war against Israel in 1973. When it went back to Sudan, it was charged to lead military operations against the Armée with release with Sudan to the south with the country.

It reached the rank of General in the years 1980 and carried out the military coup d'etat of 1989 which reversed the Prime Minister elected Sadeq Al-Mahdi. All the political parties as well as the Parliament were dissolved. El-Béchir took the head of the revolutionary Conseil for national safety lately established and took the functions of Head of the State, Prime Minister, Chef of the armed forces and Ministre for defense before becoming officially President the October 16th 1993. Initially combined at islamist the Hassan Al-Tourabi, to el-Béchir will put it at the variation before imprisoning it when Al-Tourabi wants to assume only the capacity in 1999.
