Olivier de Kersauson

Olivier, Viscount of Kersauson de Pennendreff (the name Kersauson comes from Breton the Kêr , house, city and Saozon , English, Saxons), captain with the long course, called the Admiral , was born with Bonnétable (the Sarthe), the July 20th 1944. Its ancestors illustrated themselves in the French history since one of its aïeux would have ordered the fleet of Saint Louis left to the Croisade S.

Olivier de Kersauson is 7th of a family of 8 children. His/her brother Yves de Kersauson became admiral after a career in the Navy where it directed the DRM (Direction of the military information).

Olivier de Kersauson started to sail close to Morlaix. Teenager, it sails with the Trinity by barring the Cambronne Jean-Marie Le Pen.

In 1964, it carries out its military service on board PEN Duick and meets for the first time Eric Tabarly at the time of a regatta with Saint-Malo. Consequently, it becomes one of the favorite team-members of Tabarly and becomes even the second about it on several PEN Duick . Appreciated for “its force worthy of Hercules, his engagement and his humor” according to Tabarly.

Holder in 1989 of the record of the round the world tour as a recluse in 125 days, 19 hours and 32 minutes on Another glance (ex Foal ), a Trimaran of 23 Mr.
Détenteur in 1997 of the Trophée Jules Verne in 71 days, 14 hours and 22 minutes on Sport-Élec, a Trimaran of 27,4 Mr.
Détenteur in 2004 of the Trophée Jules Verne in 63 days, 13 hours and 59 minutes on Géronimo.
Holder of the Turn of the Australia in July 2005, 17 days 12 hours 57 minutes.
It carried out the TRANSPAC of Los Angeles to Honolulu in 4 days 19 hours 31 minutes.
In 2006, it beats the record between San Francisco and Yokohama of 14 days, 22 hours 40 minutes.
In 2006, Kersauson had also established the time of reference for the crossing to the veil between Japan and Hong-Kong (4 days 17 hours, 47 minutes and 23 seconds).
A few weeks later, it beats Sunday June 11th 2006 a new record, on the same course but in opposite direction. He traversed the 4482 Miles course between Yokohama and San Francisco in 13 days, 22 hours and 38 minutes.
