Olinde Rodrigues
Olinde Rodrigues (born 1794 with Bordeaux, deceased 1851 with Paris) is a Mathématicien and a social reformer.
Jewish of origin, it cannot integrate Polytechnique and must be satisfied with the National university. It obtains its doctorate in 1816: it exposes to it the Formule of Rodrigues. Become Banker, he is follower of the ideas of Saint-Simon (1760-1825). After the death of this one, it continues to defend this socialist ideal and publishes in banking policy, sociology and studies. In 1840, at 46 years, Rodrigues publishes its work on the Groupe of rotations SO (3). Its work however was occulted by the work of Hamilton (1805-1865).
