Old city of Warsaw

The old city of Warsaw (Polish: Stare Miasto ) is the oldest historical quarters of Warsaw. It is limited by the streets: Wybrzeże Gdańskie , Grodzka , Mostowa and Podwale .

The district dates from the 13th century. The heart is the place of the market, with its restaurants of Polish traditional kitchen, its coffees and stores.

The surrounding streets are testimonys of medieval architecture, such as the ramparts of the city, the Barbacane and the Cathédrale Midsummer's Day.

Entirely destroyed at the time of the Rising of Warsaw in 1944, the old city was rebuilt with identical following an important effort of national mobilization.
