Okahandja
Okahandja (what means " the place where two rivers are recontrent to form only une") is a small town of 18 thousand inhabitants located in the area of Otjozondjupa in the center of the Namibia.
A village was founded in this place towards 1800 by the Hereros and the Nama. In 1827, a German Pasteur , Heinrich Schmelen, is the first Européen to be gone on the site. In 1844, two missionaries are assigned permanently in Okahandja.
In 1894, the German army establishes a military base whereas Okahandja receives officially the statute of village.
The city is a crossing point today towards the National park of Etosha and the administrative center of Herero.
