Octavio Paz
Octavio Paz (March 31st 1914 - April 19th, 1998) is a Mexican writer of the 20th century having obtained the Nobel Prize of literature.
Biography
Octavio Paz was born on March 31st 1914 with Mexico City, where he died on April 19th, 1998.
It is especially known for its Poème S, its Essai S, its engagement antifascist and for his collaboration and its creation of several reviews, like Vuelta (1976-1998).
It is one of the large poets of Spanish language of the 20th century, and one compared his influence with that of Juan Ramón Jiménez, Vicente Huidobro, César Vallejo or Pablo Neruda.
Resident in Spain at the time of the civil war it supported the fight of the republicans and the combat antifascist.
Entered in 1945 the diplomatic career, it lived in France starting from 1946. He attended the surrealist ones and more particularly André Breton and Benjamin Péret.
He was named in India in 1962 and worked with the Mexican embassy in October 1968, during the repression of his government against the students of Tlatelolco during the Olympic Games of Mexico City. He will give up this station thereafter.
