Observatory Goethe Link
The Observatoire Goethe Link is an astronomical observatory located close to Brooklyn (Indiana) (the USA) property of the university of Indiana at Bloomington and operated by the Indiana Astronomical Society. It is named in the honor of Doctor Goethe Link, a surgeon of Indianapolis which built it on its own funds. The construction of the observatory began in 1937 and it telescope was operational in 1939. Link made gift of the observatory at the university of Indiana in 1948.
Many discoveries of Astéroïde S were made there, of which (1578) Kirkwood. They are credited by the Minor Planet Center under the name " Indiana University" , which led the Indiana Asteroid Program to Goethe Link of 1949 with 1967 using a astrographe equipped with a Triplet of Cooke of 10 inches F 6.5. The asteroid (1728) Goethe Link was discovered there the October 12th 1964.
