Nuclear plant of Onagawa

The Nuclear plant of Onagawa (女川原子力発電所 " Onagawa genshiryoku hatsudensho") is exploited by the electric Compagnie Tōhoku .
It is installed in Onagawa (Japanese 女川町) in the district of Oshika of the Préfecture of Miyagi on the peaceful coast in the west of the Island of Honshu the principal island of the Japan. The power station is located on the peninsula of Oshika close to Masushima which one of the most beautiful landscapes of Japan.

Description

The power station of Onagawa is equipped with three nuclear reactors with ebullient water (REB):
  • Onagawa 1 : 524 MWe, MSI in 1984
  • Onagawa 2 : 825 MWe, MSI in 1995
  • Onagawa 3 : 1125 MWe, MSI in 2002
NB: MSI means brought into service industrielle
Engines 1 and 2 were built by Toshiba and 3rd in partnership between Toshiba and Hitachi.
