Nozeroy
Nozeroy is a common French, located in the department of the the Jura and the area Franche-Comté.
Geography
Located in height, Nozeroy accommodated a strong Château today in ruins. Nozeroy had its hour of glory with the Moyen-âge, under the dynasty of the Trawl-nets, princes d' Orange. It controlled the access roads towards the Suisse and the exploitation of the salt.

History
Jean de Chalon chooses a site height, justifiable near the road of the salt, which the Saline ones in Jougne allows the commercial exchanges and cultural between Burgundy and Switzerland and beyond between the Flanders and Italy. Jean de Chalon creates then in 1262 in the center of his field, a fortress from where its policy is led and are managed its goods: Nozeroy.

Activities
One finds there a Hôpital and many small Commerce S, but not of Gare. The college Gilbert Cousin, accommodates 143 pupils in 7 classes. The buildings, property of the General advice of the Jura are restructured since 2006.
Places and monuments
there is a station with Nozeroy well, it is currently used for services of the State. It was located on the line of the Secondary lines of the Jura, of Champagnole to Boujailles until at May 1st, 1949.One can while following the path interpretation to discover many monuments of which some are registered with the additional inventory of the historic buildings: the vestiges of the ramparts, doors (carries of Nods and Tour of the Clock), the ruins of the Castle, collegial Saint-Anthony…

Since 1986 takes place, each year, a Fête under the name “With the attack of the rampart S”, which proposes the local culture and traditions.

In 2007, from Friday, June 29 to July 2nd, the city will put at the honor Gilbert Cousin born in 1507 in Nozeroy.
