• November 9th: George Herbert Walker Bush elected president of the the United States of America with 54% of the votes, 426 electoral mandates out of 538, success in 40 states out of 50, while its rival, Michael Dukakis obtained only 46% of the voices. The democrats, if it did not gain the White House, manimisé on the Congress, where they are majority in the two Rooms.

• November 15th: takeoff of the Soviet Space shuttle Bourane launched orbits about it by a rocket Energia. This automatic flight was the only flight of the Soviet space shuttle.
