North-Eastern province (province of Kenya)
The north-Eastern province is one of the Province S of the Kenya. In the simple beginning District, it covers the essence of the North-East of the country, and is inhabited by pastoral communities.
In 1979 its population was estimated at 374.000 people; it is assembled to 962.000 inhabitants in 1999, who share a surface of 127.000 km ².

The climate is semi-arid.

The chief town of the province is Garissa. It is divided into three District S:- Garissa, chief town Garissa
- Mandera, chief town Mandera
- Wajir, chief town Wajir
History
The province is currently largely destabilized and is a hearth of insecurity, and knows important shifts in population related on the successive drynesses and chronic instability in close Somalia.
