Nikolaï Archakov
Nikolaï Ivanovitch Archakov was a Soviet pilot of attack of the Second world war, holder of the Ordre of Héros of the Soviet Union.
Career
Born the August 27th 1913 within a family from peasants of the area of Riazan, it decided to follow courses of piloting in a civil Aéroclub starting from 1934.In 1941, it was mobilized in the Red Army and was initially versed in the Infanterie; and it is as simple infantryman whom it took part in the Bataille of Moscow, with the Hiver 1941 - 1942. He then undertook to follow a formation of pilot of attack , patent of qualification which he obtained in 1943. He took share with the release of the states Balte S, be 1944, then with the attack of the Prussia Oriental E with the Hiver 1944. In April 1945 it was promoted kapitan (= Capitaine) and chief of Escadrille, that one even which had carried out more than 1.000 missions of war in 1 year , of the 999.ShAP (= regiment of air attack) of the 277.ShAD (=division of air attack) within the 3rd face (= Groupe of armies) of Bielorussia.
At the conclusion of the conflict it remained in the army and took its retirement like podpolkovnik (= lieutenant-colonel) in 1955. It was to die the December 7th 1961.

- But as a pilot of attack, it has, during 162 missions of combat , destroyed the following material:
- 6 tanks, 3 planes, 55 vehicles, 35 pieces of artillery and 25 bunkers .

- 2 times decorated with the Order of the Red Flag;
- Order of Souvorov of 3rd class ;
- Order of the Patriotic War of 1e and 2nd class ;
- 3 times decorated about Red Star.
