Quettehou is a common French, located in the department of the Manche and the area Basse-Normandie.
Geography
Quettehou is a village located at the north-eastern point of the peninsula of the Cotentin in the middle of the Val of Saire between bay of Morsalines or the " Bottom of loup" and it wood of Rabey. It is bordered in the east by Saint-Vaast-the-Hougue, in the south by Morsalines, north by Anneville-in-Saire and the west by the wood of Rabey.
History
In the beginning, the Village of the Shore was an small group of dwellings on the coast. Following the Germanic invasions, Ysemberville - the village of Ysembert - is established with orée of the forest. Thereafter, the Vikings were installed on the height where the church is drawn up now, gave to their village the name of their chief, Ketil. With the wire of time, Ketilholm - the hill of Ketil - was transformed into Quettehou .

Demography
Places and monuments
- the Saint-Vigor church, dedicated to évèque of Bayeux of the same name. It was built in XIIe century and was finished in XIIIe. The bell-tower was built of 1485 to 1498. At the entry of the chorus is a vault built between 1612 and 1616 in the honor of Saint Jean-Baptiste. This vault is now dedicated to the " happy Placid Mother Viel" (1815-1877) which was béatifiée in the Basilique Saint-Pierre of Rome on May 6th, 1951. On the pillars of the side many graffiti are dating from the Bataille of Hougue.
