Nguyễn Minh Triết
Nguyễn Minh Triết , (born the October 8th 1942 in Bến Cát in the province of Bình Dương), is the president of the Vietnam since the June 27th 2006.
Biography
After having taught mathematics with Saigon, Tri enters the Communist party in 1965. In 1992, it is named chief of the Party of the province of Song Be. It transforms this mainly agricultural area into a gravitational zone for the overseas investments.It is promoted at the Political office of the Party in 1997 then chief of the Communist party of Saigon in 2000. It launches a campaign against the organized crime and the corruption which leads in particular to the arrest of the gangster chief Truong Van Cam known under the name of Nam Cam.
June 27th, 2006, he is elected President of the Republic by the National Assembly of Vietnam with 464 votes (94.12% of the voices). The presidency of Vietnam is a station before very protocolar, the Prime Minister dealing with the daily government while the General secretary of the Communist party is the most powerful character.
The July 24th 2007, it is re-elected president by the National Assembly of Vietnam with 98.78% of the voices.
