Nexter

Nexter , in the past Giat Industries, is one manufacturing of Arme S under control of the government French. It manufactures military material for the combat terrestrial, aéroterrestre, air and sea and naval.

The group was founded in 1973 by the fusion of various industries of armament of the ministry for defense; The G.I.A.T or GIAT is created: Industrial Grouping of the Terrestrial Armaments . This grouping became a national company in 1991, while a public limit company is created, whose registered trade name is “Giat Industries SA”. The group becomes Nexter on February 1st 2006.
