New Mexico City Lobos is a club general sports university of the University off New Mexico City with Albuquerque (New Mexico). The teams of Lobos take part in the university competitions organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association. New Mexico City belongs to division Mountain West Conference.
The nickname of Lobos (Spanish wolves) was adopted in 1920.
The basketball players were champions of conference MWC in 2005 while the female ones gained title MWC in 2004 and 2005.
