New Japan Pro Wrestling (新日本プロレス, shin nihon puroresu) is a great federation of professional wrestling with the Japan, founded by Antonio Inoki in 1972. It is the greatest promotion of wrestling in Japan, which is diffused on TV Asahi (regularly on Eurosport in France) but also one of the greatest federations in the world. Although the multitude declined these last years, the NJPW preserves the record of multitude over one year compared to its rival the Pro Wrestling NOAH with 50,000 spectators of average according to Weekly Fight. In October 2005, 51,5% of the organization were sold with YUKE' S Future Media Creators, a company located at Osaka and specialized in the market of the DVD and the video games. The NJPW work in agreement with the Consejo Mundial of Lustred Free, National Wrestling Alliance and the Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. It was associated before with the World Championship Wrestling.

It was also named 8 times by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter " Promotion of the année" , more than any other federation in the world.
