New Historicism
The New Historicism is current a historiographic founded on the idea that a literary work should be analyzed taking into consideration de its production in time, the place, and the circumstances of its composition.
By a work on the historicity of the texts and a textualisation of the history, New historicism pays attention to the extreme otherness and the strangeness of the Passé. It rejects the idea of a context which prédéfinirait literary works.
New Historicism developed in the years 1980, mainly by the work of Stephen Greenblatt and the New school of Critique American arts person.
