Nephelometry

The nephelometry , also called nephelemetry , belonged to the photometry of the turbid mediums. It measures the diffused light and requires the use of a fluorometer. The values of waves used vary between 250 and 350 Nm. Measurement is taken with 90° compared to the incidental light.

The nephelometry is a method used to proportion " particules". It is used to measure the serum protein concentrations by immuno precipitation: the diluted serum is put in the presence of an anti specific serum and the complex antigen-antibody antiprotéine precipitates in the form of fine particles allowing a nephelemetric analysis.

The instrument used to make measurements is the Néphélomètre.
