Neckarzimmern is a commune in the Neckar-Odenwald-Kreis in Bade-Wurtemberg

Geography

Neckarzimmern is between Heidelberg and Heilbronn.

Infrastructure

Neckarzimmern is on B27 Schaffhouse - Stuttgart - Heilbronn - Mosbach - Würzburg - Fulda - Göttingen - Harz and at the station one can go every hour to Neckarelz and Heilbronn - Stuttgart. The common neighbors are Mosbach, Gundelsheim, Haßmersheim and Obrigheim.

Religions

Since the radical Reform in XVe century, Neckarzimmern was especially Protestant. Later, after the Second world war, with the refugees, there is, like today, about 38% chatholoques and there is a catholic parish, together with Haßmersheim, Neckarelz, Diedesheim and Obrigheim.

There was also a Juive parish. In XVIIIe century, there was a synagog. November 10th, 1938, the building was destroyed and set fire to. 1933,29 Jews lived in Neckarzimmern. Under the Third Reich, at least 12 died.

Neckartzimmern has an elementary school and a Protestant nursery school.
