Navigo passes
Navigo is the name of the smart card without contact containing the transport documents usable in Ile-de-France for the access to the networks the RATP, the SNCF and Optile.
Its implementation is supervised by the Syndicat of transport of Ile-de-France (STIF) which is owner of mark NAVIGO.
History
The Navigo master key was born into 1994 from a partnership between the RATP and the Group Innovatron (property of Roland Moreno, known to be the father of the Smart card). In 2004 an experimentation of the transport ticket on Navigo master key was carried out in the 12th district of Paris.
In February 2005, they are the whole of Parisian and the inhabitants of outskirts of the city, zones 1 and 2, subscribed with the Transport ticket which are seen proposing passes it without Navigo contact.

One ten years lifespan, Navigo Découverte spends it is on sale in the counters of the conveyers of Ile de France at the price of 5€ (price at the 9/1/07). Available without formalities, it is provided with:- a personal chart transport similar to that accompanying the traditional coupon by the Transport ticket
- the smart card Navigo

Navigo Imagine' R passes
Held to the students subscribers to one subscription to the Chart Imagine' R, Navigo Imagine' R passes it can contain only the yearly subscriptions Imagine' R. Adoption by the users

Operation

Technical data
The Navigo master key is a master key without contact which rests on the association of two technologies:- the microprocessor card, already present on all the French bank cards;

However, the patents covering Calypso technology belong to the RATP, the SNCF and Innovatron.
