In the beginning, the Natural science indicated the study and the description of the aspects Physique S (of the Greek , physis , “Nature”) of the world.
Other meanings of the " term; Natural science " also existed. Thus, the botanists, zoologists and mycologists were called a long time Naturaliste S because their study of the alive world is done mainly on the ground (Herborisation, Récolte), whereas the term of Biologiste was reserved being studied in Laboratoire.
Today, the Natural science are more generally included/understood like “ the unit formed by the " Life sciences " and those of the ecosystem having allowed blossoming of the Life. ”
The separation of with the " Sciences of nature " institutionnellement in France in 1958 was institutionnellement established, with the appearance of the options " Sciences of the ground " and " biological Sciences " within the aggregation of Natural science.
