Natural increase

In Demography, the natural balance or natural increase is the difference between the number of births and the number of deaths on a territory.

One gives this balance for a population of 1000 inhabitants

The natural balance can thus be positive or negative.

Added to the Migratory balance, it makes it possible to calculate the total variation of a population.

The natural rate of increase for 1000: Index expressing the natural increase, for 1000 inhabitants, lasting one year. It is calculated by dividing the number of live births by the number of deaths enregsitrés during 1 year. the result being multiplied per 1000.

If the data which you have are in the form of percentages:

If there is x% of annual birthrate, (i.e. the number of naissanes for 100 inhabitants) and y% of mortality (i.e. the number of deaths for 100 inhabitants) the natural rate of increase will be (X there) %.
