NYSE Euronext

NYSE Euronext, Inc. (,) is a world group of stock exchange places . It was born in 2007 from fusion between the New York Stock Exchange and Euronext groups it. NYSE Euronext is today the first world group of stock exchange places.

The group Euronext existed between 2000 and 2007: it was large a purse of values in Europe, place on the market resulting from the fusion of the Stock Exchanges of Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, Lisbon and Oporto, and LIFFE.

History

Birth of Euronext

This company of right Dutch was created the September 22nd 2000 by the fusion of the purses of Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris. In 2002, it repurchased LIFFE (London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange) and amalgamated with Portuguese purse BVLP (Bolsa de Valores de Lisboa E Oporto).

May 17th, 2005, Euronext opened Alternext, place intended for the going public of SME.

Fusion with the NYSE and creation of NYSE Euronext

June 1st, 2006, Euronext N.V and NYSE Group, Inc. announce their fusion between equal and thus the creation of the most important stock exchange platform to the world, which will name NYSE Euronext. This new business will ensure the quotation of a market cap about the 15 thousand billion euros/20 thousand billion dollars USD.

On Wednesday, April 4, 2007, the action of the new unit (Nyse-Euronext - US6294911010) born from fusion between the purse paneuropéenne and that of New York carried out its first steps out of Stock Exchange, in Paris and Wall Street. (See also New York Stock Exchange)
