Nécrophagie

The nécrophagie is the fact of eating corpses (in Greek, nékros = Mort, phagein = to eat).

For an Animal nourishing died animals, exclusively or partially, one will usually speak about vultures . The Vulture S and the Hyène S are examples of vultures.

Good number of insects are necrophagous. One can quote among them the Mouche S (dipterous), the Nécrophore S and the Staphylin S (coleopters).

The nécrophagie relates to only the consumption of beings of another species. When the corpse is that of a member of the same species, it is about a form of animal Cannibalisme.

Biology

The animals necrophagous are equipped with a direction of the developed sense of smell.

These are animals whose organization must support to swallow significant amounts of bacteria saprophytes, when the corpses are particularly broken up. Certain species start to eat the corpse only when it reached a advanced stage of decomposition.
