Museum of the Counterfeit
The museum of the Counterfeit is located at 16, rue Faisanderie in the {{XVIe}} district of Paris.
The museum was founded in a goal teaching in 1951 by the Union of the manufacturers, an association having for vocation to defend the industrial property and artistic, going back to 1872.
Located in a private mansion classified at the inventory of the historic buildings, the museum presents several hundreds of fraudulent objects of very diverse quality and nature: perfume, cigars, electric household appliances, etc One also finds there what undoubtedly constitutes the oldest example of counterfeit, of the stoppers of amphoras dating from Gallo-Roman Antiquity.
