Museum of Scotland
The museum of Scotland , located at Edinburgh in Scotland, is a museum devoted to the history, the people and the culture of Scotland. Opened in 1998, the museum has a particular style. The architecture of the building mixes geometrical forms and forms inspired of Le Corbusier, but also has many references to Scotland, the such form of Broch and the crenels. The building is covered with gilded sandstone of Moray, that the architect, Gordon Benson, qualified “the exposed object oldest in the building”, a reference to Scottish geology. The building was nominated with the Prix Stirling 1999.
The museum is located on Chambers Street , in the center of Edinburgh, near the royal Musée of Scotland, to which it is connected. It belongs to the national museums of Scotland and its entry is free.
