Mundgod
Mundgod is a town of panchayat in the district of Uttara Kannada in the State of the Karnataka in India. This city is on the road going of Hubli to Sirsi.

Demography
Since the census of India of 2001, Mundgod had a population of 16.171. The men constitute 51% of the population and the women 49%. Mundgod has an average literary rate of 67%, higher than the national average of 59,5%: literary male is 73%, and female arts person is 62%. In Mundgod, 15% of the population are under 6 years major.Using the Government of India, the administration Tibetan, in the beginning of the year 1960, proposed to begin certain a number of camps for the refugees Tibetans. The refugee camp Tibetans of Mundgod is one of them. The government of India in consultation with the Government of the state of Karnataka agree to provide 4.000 half-hectares (16 km ²) of forest ground close to the village of Taluk in the district of Kanara of north 580 m above the sea level. The Tibetans were provided in tents and huts in bamboo for temporary shelter at the beginning. All work in the camp was made on the co-operative basis and the Tibetans were provided in food. The refugee camp Tibetans of Doeguling was established in Mundgod in 1966.
The monasteries Tibetans of Ganden and Drepung were réétablis in the refugee camp Tibetans of Mundgod in 1966 and 1969. In 1999, there were on the whole approximately 13.000 residents. The camp Tibetan is composed of 9 camps with two monasteries and a convent. They established a bank of credit for farms, an agricultural institute and a center of craft industry. Modern technologies in particular of communication were introduced. The programme of studies of the monastery of Ganden remains similar to the lesson of before the Chinese invasion of 1959 with the Tibet.
