Moving Pictures (album)
Moving Pictures is the eighth album of the group of progressive Rock: Rush, it is their first disc with being certified platinum with the the United States (quadruple platinum with 4 million albums sold).
The evolution interview on Permanent Waves the preceding album, seems to be confirmed through titles like “Tom Sawyer”, “Freewill “or “Red Barchetta” formatted for the radios.
“Tom Sawyer”, the title of opening is inspired by the famous novel of the American writer Mark Twain. He is the individual one more sold group. The topic of this song was taken again by the group of Rap the Beastie Boys during one their rounds.
“YYZ” is the access code of the personnel working to the airport of Toronto. One can hear this code in Morse code (-. -- -. -- --.) during this title nominated with the Grammy Awards in 1982 in the category “better instrumental piece”. Begun again by the group Dream Theater whereas they were still called Majesty, it is used also as introduction to the song “John The Fisherman” of the group Primus on the album of 1989 “Suck One This”.
“Witch Hunt (Share III off “Fear”)” belonged to a series of songs which includes/understands: “The Weapon” of Signals, “The Enemy Within” of Grace Under Presses and “Freeze” of Vapor Trails.
The part Reggae of “Vital Sign” is inspired by the group The Police. The group will exploit of advantage this musical genre in the album following studio: Signals.
