Mounts Sickles
The mounts Faucilles indicate a series of hills laid out in arc, between the Plateau of Langres and the Massif of the Vosges. They encroach on the south-east of the department of Haute-Marne and extend on the part of the department of the the Vosges which one calls the Vôge.
Of Calcareous nature or sandy, this plate marks the boundary line of water between the the North Sea and the the Mediterranean. It is besides close to its culminating point, Ménamont (467 m), that are born the the Saone, affluent of the the Rhone, and the Madon, tributary of a tributary of the the Rhine. Although not very high, this solid mass does not offer an easy axis of circulation: 433 m with the collar of the Pear tree, 415 m with the collar of the Small bells, 403 m with the collar Top of Saline. The passage of the Canal of the East in the Années 1880 required many works of art.
Several thermal spas marks out the Faucilles mounts: Bourbonne-the-Baths, Martigny-the-Baths, Contrexéville, Vittel, Bath-the-Baths and Plombières-the-Baths. It is more generally an area specialized in the Country holidays.
