Motomu Toriyama

Motomu Toriyama , in Japanese ja 鳥山求, is creative and person in charge of the development of Japanese video games. He currently works for Square Enix in and in particular became realizer of plays like Final Fantasy X-2 or Final Fantasy XIII .

Biography

Motomu Toriyama enters to Square Enix in 1995. He is initially scenario writer with his first Video game Bahamut Lagoon in 1996. A few years later he becomes realizer with both RPG, Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 also taking the load of the scenario.

In 1997, Motomu Toriyama takes part in the planning of the events of Final Fantasy VII, but also takes charges the design with it with the mini play out of submarine! In 1999, one finds it on astonishing the Racing Lagoon, mixture of Jeu of car and RPG. He writes the scenario of it. He passes then to a station of great scale on a play which is him also gigantic: Final Fantasy X. He becomes the person in charge of the scenarized part of the play, at the sides of Takayoshi Nakazato for displacements and of Toshiro Tsuchida for the engagements. Having gained the confidence of Yoshinori Kitase, Motomu Toriyama then passes to the head of its development team, which launches out in the production of Final Fantasy X-2, following the video the Eternal Happiness present on the DVD no-claims bonus of Final Fantasy X International. On this subject, the scenario of this short video was written by Toriyama itself. Since 2004, its team harnesses with the realization of Final Fantasy XIII out of PlayStation 2. However, after having worked on the technical demonstration of FFVII on PlayStation 3 at the time of the E3 2005, it seems clear that to return on PS2 is impossible: Kitase and Toriyama thus decide to make clean slate and to launch out in the creation of FFXIII on PS3.
