Motion Picture Association
The Motion Picture Association ( MPA ) is an interprofessional association which defends the interests of American cinema industry apart from the the United States. The seven principal American studios are member.
The MPA was created in 1945 under the name of Motion Picture Export Association in order to promote the export of American films and to fight against the protectionism of which those were victims.
Association was renamed Motion Picture Association in 1994.
The head office of the MPA is located at Los Angeles. Association has offices with Washington, D.C, Brussels, New Delhi, Rio de Janeiro, Singapore, Mexico City, Toronto and Jakarta.
